Rebuild­ing the Ken­wood Ele­men­tary Gym­na­si­um helped heal the com­mu­ni­ty.

A beau­ti­ful­ly fin­ished foun­da­tion adds more than curb appeal — it pro­tects your home from envi­ron­men­tal dam­age and enhances ener­gy effi­cien­cy. Mod­ern home­own­ers and builders can choose from a vari­ety of exte­ri­or cov­er­ing ideas, from time­less options like brick and stone veneer applied to advanced solu­tions like Insu­lat­ed Con­crete Forms (ICFs).

Fox Blocks ICF offered an ener­gy-effi­cient solu­tion for a build­ing full of pres­sur­ized mois­ture because mois­ture does not affect the ICF, even over the long term. Pota­to stor­age is at a con­stant 100% rel­a­tive humid­i­ty and 1.5 cfm pres­sure, which caus­es oth­er forms of con­struc­tion to go through com­plex detail­ing to keep mois­ture out of the wall cav­i­ty.

Win­ter­set Com­mu­ni­ty Church want­ed a larg­er gath­er­ing space for the local com­mu­ni­ty, so they decid­ed to add a gym­na­si­um to their wor­ship build­ing. The addi­tion had to be built quick­ly while the church was still in use, blend in seam­less­ly with the exist­ing struc­ture, and offer high noise pro­tec­tion between the church and the gym­na­si­um.

In order to max­i­mize the avail­able project foot­print and achieve the beau­ti­ful mediter­ranean-inspired look, the design required com­plex, tight-radius cor­ners and open­ings.

The objec­tive was to build a beau­ti­ful home on spec that was both ener­gy effi­cient and hur­ri­cane-resis­tant in a sought-after neigh­bor­hood in the Flori­da Pan­han­dle.

Our insu­lat­ed con­crete forms are sol­id mono­lith­ic walls and with­stand the worst of rain­storms, fires, and high winds — includ­ing tor­na­does.
