Eco-Friend­ly Space to Serve the Pub­lic. The Alachua Coun­ty Tax Collector’s Office is a wel­com­ing space with staff and clients at the fore­front of design.

For gen­er­a­tions, the con­struc­tion of exte­ri­or walls has fol­lowed tra­di­tion­al prac­tices that have pri­mar­i­ly involved wood or steel fram­ing. These meth­ods have been the back­bone of res­i­den­tial and light com­mer­cial con­struc­tion, by pro­vid­ing shel­ter, sta­bil­i­ty, and a cer­tain lev­el of insu­la­tion.

This mas­sive home, an incred­i­ble mix of tra­di­tion­al styling and mod­ern tech­nol­o­gy, includes hand-carved mar­ble man­tles, a 1,500-bottle brick wine cel­lar, five wood-burn­ing fire­places, a real stone bar with a 4” thick wal­nut book­end bar­top, and a cus­tom pyra­mid sky­light in the roof above the mas­ter bed­room.

The term ​“ener­gy audit” can seem daunt­ing. But in real­i­ty, it’s noth­ing to be afraid of, and in fact, is designed to be ben­e­fi­cial to you.

In order to max­i­mize the avail­able project foot­print and achieve the beau­ti­ful mediter­ranean-inspired look, the design required com­plex, tight-radius cor­ners and open­ings.
