8 Impressive Modern Homes Built with ICF
Any sustainability consultant will tell you that a building’s insulation is a crucial part in constructing an energy-efficient, high performance home. Choosing the right material and insulation method for a build ensures homeowners will have a sustainable building envelope for the life cycle of the home.
ACADIA COLONY POTATO BARN
Fox Blocks ICF offered an energy-efficient solution for a building full of pressurized moisture because moisture does not affect the ICF, even over the long term. Potato storage is at a constant 100% relative humidity and 1.5 cfm pressure, which causes other forms of construction to go through complex detailing to keep moisture out of the wall cavity.
WINTERSET COMMUNITY CHURCH ADDITION
Winterset Community Church wanted a larger gathering space for the local community, so they decided to add a gymnasium to their worship building. The addition had to be built quickly while the church was still in use, blend in seamlessly with the existing structure, and offer high noise protection between the church and the gymnasium.
Reduce Moisture Problems with ICF Construction
You can avoid stud-framing moisture problems by choosing a moisture-resistant insulated concrete form (ICF) foundation for your new home.
Dominion Springs Plaza
This high-end, multi-building, retail plaza was the first of its kind in the world of ICF construction.
REYES PARADE OF HOMES RESIDENCE
In order to maximize the available project footprint and achieve the beautiful mediterranean-inspired look, the design required complex, tight-radius corners and openings.
Designing for Disaster Protection and Storm-Proof Homes
Exterior wind damage is responsible for 25% of all homeowner insurance claims. That doesn’t include the interior losses that occur when damaged windows and roofs let rain wreak havoc inside. While we can’t prevent windstorms, we can lessen their damage by planning home designs with wind-resistance as a top priority.
